I have been the Director of a wonderful Community Chorus for 20 years (they just celebrated their 70th Anniversary)and I am always amazed at my singers thinking that what applies to professional choristers does not apply to them because they are "amateurs". I reinforce good singing and proper technique consistently and we begin every rehearsal with a mini voice lesson emphasing through warm-ups the vocal techniques we will use in that rehearsal. I will certainly share these tips with my singers as I have so many other articles in the past. Thank you for your wonderful website and for all the good advice we can pass on to our choristers. It is a joy to spend time with folks who just "love to sing" any and all kinds of music! Lorraine C. Nanko, Director Parkchester Chorus, Bronx, New York
