And more to the point, does it matter?
Kelsey Menehan
I have a terrible confession to make. I have sung in a symphonic chorus for 10 years and I don't know the group's mission statement.
Is this a sin? Perhaps you, like me, are going to your chorus's website right now to see what it says under Mission.
Mission statements are like shoes. They're pretty much ignored and taken for granted, unless they're ill-fitting. And yet someone, or usually a committee of someones, labored to fashion the statement that describes why my choral group exists. This statement is not just for the folks who happen upon the website or read the fine print of the season brochure. It's for me and it's for you—the singers.
